Hello Friends,

What an adventure! Three weeks in and around New Orleans...

It has taken some time to absorb the enormity of the disaster. While driving around in the neighborhoods that were flooded gives you a sense of the destruction, it can only be measured immediately in the physical sense. Buildings standing empty, gutted and insides spewed on lawns. Tilted and twisted trees, the piled stumps of bigger trees, parked cars, all scattered still, save for the heaved and broken road and walkways that have been cleared...

But the absence of people, sinks in slowly, it stuns the senses. I felt this overwhelming sense of helplessness. But we must do something to help! We must not forget our fleur-de-lie city, especially now that Mardi Gras has passed...

This is the year I play for New Orleans!

WhiIe visiting my brother, and being a carpenters' son, I contacted the local Habitat for Humanity. They are doing tremendous work and I will be collecting funds for them at every show I perform this year! But this can only really work if everyone comes and pitches in. Gathering together, even as far away as we are, we can stir energy to help the healing and maybe send a few bucks, too. If you can't contribute money then please come and share your artistic spirit, lending your energies to our focused thoughts of healing...
And it all starts.....

Peace,
Jme
